Why are there so many "GLP1"s?

GLP1 Receptor Agonists are a class of drugs that work in roughly the same way. There are many actual chemical compounds that deliver the effects to the body, which have different names like "Semaglutide".

Formulations change (and are created/invented by various companies), but the effects and how they work are (mostly) the same.
